Senator David Mark Again Promises To Create Apa State

Senate president David Mark, on March 23 reiterated his commitment to forming Apa state for the Idoma people of Benue.

Speaking in Ogbadibo, Okpokwu and Ado LGAs in the course of his campaign tour, Mark urged Nigerians to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party and thus give the Senate opportunity to create the proposed state.

The politician insisted that the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan would hasten the creation of states, PM News reports.

Additionally, the official warned the public against voting for the All Progressives Congress saying it would bring only negative change.

Steven Lawani, the deputy governor of the state, promised votes for the ruling party. He stated that the Idoma people had benefited from Jonathan-led administration more than from any other.
It should be noted that Mark has on several occasions reiterated his commitment to creating Apa state.
“As we continue to strive to attain set objectives, I would want to affirm that if you my people ask me to lay down my life for the growth, sustenance and and stability of democracy and for the creation of Apa state, I will willingly do that, because without you, there is no me.”
“Even if it takes my last breadth, I want to pursue the creation of state. I will put in my last breadth to ensure the creation of Apa state for my people.”
