President Goodluck Jonathan Dusts Gen Muhammadu Buhari In Nasarawa State


President Goodluck Jonathan dusted the All Progressive Congress presidential candidate, Gen Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) in Nasarawa the APC controlled in the north central, amidst tight security.

Announcing the result at the state headquarters in Lafia, the Nasarawa collation officer for the presidential election, Professor Abdulmumini Hassan Rafindadi declared that President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP polled total votes of 22,693 in Obi local government area, against his major contender Muhammadu Buhari who scored 12,543 votes.


In Keana, President Jonathan polled 8, 013 votes against Buhari with 7,015 votes.
Available results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Lafia, the state capital, indicated that President Jonathan of the PDP cleared seven out of the 13 local government areas of the state with 35,867 votes margin.

Others local governments also cleared by PDP in the state were Obi, Keana, Nasarawa Eggon, Kokona, Doma and Akwanga, while Buhari claimed only six local government areas of Keffi, Wamba, Nasarawa, Toto, Awe and Lafia respectively.

In the same vein, PDP gripped Kokona with 23,682, APC scored 14,500, Doma, PDP polled 19,178 votes, while APC polled 12,903 votes, Nasarawa Eggon, PDP polled 44,825 votes against APC scoring 7,574 votes and Akwanga, PDP polled 15,992 votes to defeat APC with 10,823 votes.

However, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of APC scored the maximum votes in Awe with 13,855 votes against President Jonathan of PDP scored 9,964 votes and in Keffi, APC polled 26,796 votes, while PDP scored 9, 735 votes, while APC polled a total of 12,958 in Wamba against 8,353 scored by PDP.
