Over 400 Women & Children Abducted By Boko Haram From Damasak Town

Boko Haram insurgents have abducted over 400 women and children from Damasak town in Borno State.

Damasak was earlier declared free of the terrorists by the Chadian and Nigerian Troops days ago.

The exact number of people abducted is yet to be confirmed, however; numerous sources say is it is over 400.

A trader named Souleymane Ali told reporters that “they took 506 young women and children (in Damasak). They killed about 50 of them before leaving, We don’t know if they killed others after leaving, but they took the rest with them.”

Ali also revealed that his wife and three of his daughters were among those seized.

“Two of them were supposed to get married this year. (Boko Haram) said ‘They are slaves so we’re taking them because they belong to us’,” he said.
