Agila Carnival, Agila Town, Who We Really Are

Agila Town is the traditional home of the Agilan people from Ado a local government area of Benue State, Nigeria and was created in 1991.

The area comprises of many settlements, which include Apa Ivetse, Ikpenba New Agila, Ogbokwu, Udokwu and Odah.

Apa is the major town in Agila land which shares boundaries with Ebonyi State in the East, Enugu State in the West and Igumale. It is one of the 9 local government areas in the southern senatorial zone, which is mainly occupied by the Idoma people.

Prince Edwin Ochai, the CEO and founder of the Agila Carnival and Chief Dan Agbese, the Editor-in-Chief of Nigerian Newswatch, are from this area.

Agila land is blessed with minerals and natural resources, such as limestone, kaolin, petroleum, and coal in commercial quantities.

It is a culturally rich and diverse area comprising the Agila/Apa, Ulayi, Ijigbam, Utonkon, and Igumale communities.

Angered by the Socio-economic backwardness of his people, Prince Edwin Ochai saw the need to expose his people to investment opportunities and take them away from all indices of underdevelopment.
