NAFDAC Bans Sniper Sales in Supermarkets and the Open Market
The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has placed a ban on Sniper sales in supermarkets and the open market, ordering an immediate withdrawal of the product, especially the affordable 100ml size from said outlets.
The agency's Director of Veterinary Medicine and Allied Products Directorate, Dr. Bukar Usman, who made the disclosure at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, said that the insecticide is an agro-cultural product hence inappropriate for home use.
The director further stated that the directive is not an entire ban of the product, but an order to restrict it to farm use alone, as he advised the public to use other approved products in households.
