Nasiru Ali Threatens to Sue EFCC

Following his recent parade by the EFCC with another 9 suspected internet fraudsters, Abuja based music producer and photographer, Mr Nasiru Ali also known as “Kozzographa”, has threatened to sue the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC disclosed that its personnel raided the suspect’s residence in Abuja following a tip-off by an anonymous source, adding that suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.

However, Ali in a petition filed on May 31 to the EFCC Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, demanded a compensation of N100 million and an unreserved apology for libel and unlawful arrest.

The musician, through his lawyer, Mr Pelumi Olajengbensi, said that he would drag the EFCC to court for refusing to retract the negative publications about him after a seven-day ultimatum which he has given. He added that the defamation has caused him damages a minimum of five million naira, being a contract he lost with United Global Resolve for Peace (UNGREP).

The public is hereby notified that Harry Agbenu Austin MD/CEO of Megarice Co-operative Society Nigeria Limited located at Glass Plaza, Block B1, FCDA Quarters, Kubwa, Abuja and his wife Mary Agbenu Austin, a director of Megarice, whose photographs appear above, are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with a case of criminal breach of trust, obtaining by false pretense and issuance of dud cheque to the tune of over one billion naira.

Allegation of N30 Trillion Missing Under Okonjo-Iweala are false – Ribadu

Nuhu Ribadu, former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman and PDP governorship candidate, on Tuesday said the allegations about N30 trillion going missing under the watch of Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, are false.

Ribadu made this known in an interview with the News Agency Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

“I was baffled. It is delusional for anyone to say that N30 trillion got lost. I think we just have to look at what we earn as a country and what our budget had been in these few years and see how possible it is.
