IDOMA INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL 2017

It started as a one man's vision, one man's dream, a philanthropist's passion, he's a mentor and a leader, that man is Prince Edwin Ochai President of the Idoma International Carnival.

                                                             


Now its the biggest carnival celebrated all over the middle belt (north of the Niger) in the heart of the idoma nation Otukpo Benue state, Nigeria.

This year we are taking it a notch higher, expanding the horizons, breaking bars with the promise land in sight.

it's the IDOMA INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL 2017; (formerly, AGILA CARNIVAL) the perfect blend of cultural heritage and entertainment scheduled to hold live from the 22nd to 25th December, 2017 in Otukpo,

the traditional headquarters of the Idoma land, the heart of the lion and Land of brave.

LIVE IN SOUTH AFRICA: Queen Ashley Face Of Idoma (Carnival) 2015/16 arrives South Africa for a vacation after recovering from a ghastly road accident that almost claimed her life. The vibrant and hardworking queen will also be attending pageant seminars, workshops and major events in S.A during her visit in a bid to promote the Face Of Idoma Beauty Pageant, Agila Carnival as well as the Idoma cultural heritage. She will be hosted by top S.A dignitaries, tourism boards, humanitarian agencies and Nigerians in diaspora and will also pay a courtesy visit to the Nigeria High Commission in Pretoria.

BREAKING NEWS: QUEEN ASHLEY INVOLVED IN A ROAD ACCIDENT

Queen Ashley Mariam Yusuf Face Of Idoma 2015/16 (Carnival) under Agila Carnival was involved in a horrifying road accident on the deadly Lafia - Akwanga road in Nassarawa State on Tuesday 24th May 2016 while traveling from Abuja to Benue State for her Project to feed 500 Orphans this Friday, Children's Day, 27th May.

She was unconscious for a while and after she regained consciousness she narrated what she remembered, according to her, the driver of the vehicle "Benue Links" with Registration Number MKD-270 XA which she boarded for her journey was driving at an overwhelming speed which they (Passengers) kept cautioning him but he persisted until one of the tyres pulled out and the car started somersaulting immediately...

The car was said to have somersaulted four times before landing on it's back. The trapped passengers were quickly rescued by other vehicles plying the same route and rushed to the emergency ward of the nearest hospital for treatment.

Queen Ashley sustained severe injuries and having excruciating pains. She's is receiving treatment, recuperating speedily and has promised that her event will still hold tomorrow... despite her present condition nothing will hinder her from what she has planned to do for 500 orphans tomorrow.
It's a pretty sad news for us but we are glad to God for the miracle of life and we shall all come out to support her tomorrow.

AGILA CARNIVAL 2015...Consolidating the Idoma Cultural Assets and Values @agilacarnival @don_ochai

Agila Social and Economic Carnival(also known as Idoma National Carnival) has officially unveiled the activities for the 2015 edition of its annual event which is at its 3rd season. 

The carnival is an expression of Idoma identity intended to occasion a cultural Renaissance. The focal of the carnival is to re-invigorate the rather latent heritage of the Idoma people of Benue State, North Central Nigeria and create a platform for economic negotiations, mobilizing investments by identifying business potentials and resources of the zone.   Therefore through the instrumentality of music, dance, masquerades, cultural parades and pageantry, the carnival also hopes to engender youth empowerment and economic revival.      

                            
This year's activities with the theme: Consolidating the Idoma Cultural Assets and Values' kicks off on the 23rd Dec in Otukpo, the traditional and economic headquarters of the Idoma people with the biggest street party north of the Niger(carnival procession) and will proceed to Ado LGA for a Novelty Football match, cultural displays/ masquerades, traditional wrestling, musical concert, fire works, etc with glitz and glamour. 

The Face of Idoma Beauty Pageant which is the most celebrated and anticipated contest in Benue State holds on Christmas day where the winner is rewarded with a brand new Hyundai Xcent . 

The President/CEO of Agila Carnival prince Edwin Ochai has also revealed to the press that 2face Idibia who is an ambassador of the carnival and Terry G will be leading both A-list musicians and comedians to the event  to thrill fun lovers this yuletide. 

Globacom Nigeria, the biggest and the best telecom in Nigeria will be bring some of its ambassadors to perform at the events.
