New Deadline for PVC Collection Extended to to March 8th - INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has further extended the deadline for collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) until Sunday, March 8th, 2015.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Augusta Ogakwu in Abuja on Monday.

INEC Explains Why Fashola, Sultan of Sokoto don’t have PVCs

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has explained why the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar and the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola have not yet been issued Permanent Voters Cards (PVC).

INEC stated on Monday, February 2, through its Deputy Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Nick Dazang that the Sultan and Fashola had not yet gotten voters cards because of data loss from some of the commission’s machines.

Dazang stated further, during a one-day workshop held for journalists in Kaduna, that the data loss had resulted in a loss of the fingerprint records of some Nigerians.

APC Presidential Candidate Muhammadu Buhari Sued again Over Credentials

A fresh suit has been instituted against the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Muhammadu Buhari in a bid to have him disqualified from the upcoming polls.

A Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday, February 2, ordered that court papers be served on Buhari for the new case against him instituted by one Max Ozoaka.

Ozoaka wants Buhari to be disqualified for failing to submit his academic credentials to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) along with his nomination form. INEC is a co-defendant in the case.

Buhari Declines Another Presidential debate organized by Channels TV, Arise TV and NPAN

APC Presidential candidate Gen. Buhari has declined the invitation to attend a presidential debate organized by Channels TV in conjunction with the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria, NPAN and Arise TV, which was supposed to hold tomorrow February 3rd.

Buhari To Sue AIT & NTA Over “Hate Broadcasts”

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Muhamadu Buhari has threatened to file a lawsuit against African Independent Television (AIT) and Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) for airing what he has described as “hate broadcasts” against his personality.

Buhari’s threats comes just shortly after the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) warned all broadcasting stations operating in the country to “adhere strictly to the provisions of the broadcasting code or risk sanctions,” Vanguard reports.
