Yemi Alade: BET Should Delete African Category

The Johnny hit singer who was nominated for in BET Best Act “Africa” but lost to Ghanaian dance hall singer Stoneboy took to her instagram account to shade a heck outta BET. Amongst the things she let out was the fact that the African category is been presented hours before the main event and that, she termed “Disgrace“. This i think most Nigerian/Africans will agree to 100%

Secondly, she reminded the BET Award Organizers that African is not a country but a continent. “Yeah that i personally agree to…”!

and thirdly, “Please Next Time, Credibility over padi padi...”i know most of you might be thinking that she meant that Stoneboy shouldn’t have been the winner but who knows if that is what she meant? — she dint say! :/

By the way, what is your take on BET giving out the African category many hours before the main event? are our African superstars not superstars enough to them that they wont be slotted in the main event after all it wont take more than 5 minutes to dish out the award to the winner?

With that been said, since BET is an event set in place to celebrate the African entertainment, why is no much reference made to Africa which is supposed to be the main watch word of which the award stands for?
