The Presidency Condemns The Controversial Tweet From Buhari's Daughter's Account


Following a controversial tweet from the twitter handle of the Nigerian President’s daughter @Zahra_Buhari from which the Gambian President, President Yahya Jammeh  was insulted over his remarks against gay people, the Presidency this evening released a statement condemning the tweet and claims the twitter account was hacked and that she had abandoned the said account a long time ago.

Floyd Mayweather to be Stripped of WBO Title Belt

Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. was awarded the WBO welterweight title when he defeated Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao on May 2, but it was announced Friday that the 38-year-old megastar will be stripped of the championship due to a lack of compliance.
ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael was the first to report that the World Boxing Organization officially decided to take back its 147-pound belt from the undefeated Mayweather.

According to reports, Mayweather declined to pay the $200,000 sanctioning fee for the title by the deadline. Also, he decided against vacating the WBA and WBC junior middleweight titles, which was necessary since boxers are not permitted to hold world championships in multiple weight classes.

President Buhari Sacks His Chief Security Officer

A statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said that President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday promised that his administration will make sure that all cases of political assassination and kidnapping in the country are thoroughly investigated.
This  promise was made while addressing state chairmen of the All Progressives Congress who visited him at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

NFF Sacks Stephen Keshi Again

The Nigerian Football Federation has sacked Stephen Keshi as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The termination of his appointment is contained in a statement released by NFF Executive Committee today Saturday July 4th. The statement in part reads;

CHELSEA SIGNS A 17 YEAR OLD NIGERIAN FOOTBALLER

The 17 year old defensive player Fikayo Tomori has reportedly signed a professional contract with Chelsea Fc. The Canada born Nigerian footballer shared the good news on twitter .
Fikayo made his Under-18 debut as an Under-16 in August 2013 and made half a dozen appearances by Christmas, both at right-back and at centre-back, but his involvement tapered off thereafter as a result of his educational requirements, and the second half of the year was a quieter affair for him.
As a first-year scholar in 2014-15 he impressed so often in the first half of the campaign he was promoted to an Under-21 debut before Christmas. Going from strength to strength, he was a key figure in the club’s FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League successes and finished the season as an Under-21 regular.
Fikayo has no international representation to date. He is eligible to play for England, Nigeria, and Canada.

BUHARI SAYS HE MAY HAVE TO NEGOTIATE WITH BOKO HARAM

Buhari Says He May Have to Negotiate With Boko Haram
The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Friday, disclosed in an interview with the BBCthat the Federal Government has said that it is open to negotiations with the Boko Haram sect in order to find a lasting solution to the security crisis in the country, if the group is willing.
In the interview, Adesina said the Federal Government was not ruling out negotiations with the sect if it would put an end to the activities of the group, stating that the insurgents had attacked so many villages and killed scores of people.

A 95 year old Man Alexander Toczko, a World War II veteran from San DiegoCalifornia and his 96 year old wife Jeanette Toczko died just hours apart as they held hands in bed after been married to each other for over 75 years.
The couple spent their lives in love after becoming boyfriend and girlfriend when they were only eight years old.  But several weeks ago, Mr Toczko suffered a broken hip in a fall and was left bed-bound. A local hospice delivered a special bed to his home, which staff pushed up next to his beloved wife’s bed

Odemwingie has netted only five times in all 23 appearances for the Potters and has now been rewarded with a further one year deal and will play a part in the 2015/16 campaign.

A robot has killed a contractor at one of Volkswagen’s production plants in Germany, the automaker has said.
The man died on Monday at the plant in Baunatal, about 100km (62 miles) north of Frankfurt, VW spokesman Heiko Hillwig said.
The 22-year-old was part of a team that was setting up the stationary robot when it grabbed and crushed him against a metal plate, Hillwig said.
