HAPPENING  NOW:-  The Benue state Emergency Committee on Salary Payment led by the State Deputy Governor,  Engr Benson Abounu is meeting right now at the Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House with heads of MDAs and tertiary institutions in the state with peculiar salary structure and special allowances to iron out grey areas and issues that might arise in the course of their screening for the modified table payment of salaries.
Engr Abounu who restated the commitment of the Committee to knowing the authentic number of workers in the state as well as the total wage bill called on the workers and labour leaders to assist the committee in its work as doing so would help the the government better handle the payment of workers salary on a sustainable basis. He regretted the damage various forms of salary malpractices has done to the ability of the government to meet its obligation to the workers and sought the cooperation of authentic workers to close all the leakages associated with salary payment in the state.
