Esperance Sportive de Tunis have unveiled their new Nigerian
signing Emem Eduok.
Eduok had been locked in a saga following claims by a Norwegian
outfit, Sarpsborg 08 that the Nigerian already had a pre-contract agreement
with them and threatened to report the case to Fifa for punishment.
He was unveiled alongside new signings
Hatem Bejaoui and Magno Cruz. Eduok, whose contract spans till June 30, 2018,
has been handed jersey number 21.
"I'm here to help win the Champions League and national
titles. I would do my best to achieve these goals,” Eduok said during the
unveiling ceremony.
Esperance coach Khaled Ben Yahia said the
club signed the Nigerian because he is able to play in the attack as well as on
the wings.
In the thick of the storm over the contract saga, Nigeria
Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick ordered Eduok out of the Super
Eagles camp to avoid distraction with chairman of Technical and Development
Committee, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu asked to conduct an investigation into the
matter.
He was later asked to return to the natonal team camp after
investigations were concluded.
Eduok scored 21 goals in the NPFL last
season for Dolphins.
