All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari will be in Lagos today, January 30th for the party’s presidential campaign rally.
The rally which commenced at 7 a.m, is taking place at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Daily Times reports.
Speaking on traffic management, Kayode Opeifa, Commissioner for Transport stated:
“Since the rally is expected to attract huge human and vehicular traffic around Lagos especially along Funsho Williams Ave, Eko Bridge, Ikorodu Road, entire Surulere and the Teslim Balogun Stadium Area.In this regard, the Lagos State Govt will deploy 500 LASTMA personnel and all possible traffic management measures to ensure minimum disruption to motorists and party members coming for the rally…Vehicular traffic(non-rally related) would be diverted from Funsho Williams Ave to Ojuelegba towards Itire to link Ogunlana Drive to connect Eko Bridge via Bode Thomas, Eric Moore and Adelabu as at when necessary, while from Eko Bridge, traffic would be diverted to Ojuelegba, Agege Motor Road and Ikorodu Rd via Costain, Eric Mooore, Bode Thomas, Adelabu and Ogunlana Drive, itire Road, mabo, Fashoro and Bishop Street all in Surulere or better still use the Third Mainland Bridge,” he said.
Opeifa also mentioned that morning and afternoon traffic will not be affected.
