Speaking during the induction and handing over of the aircraft in Kaduna, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar expressed optimism that the new aircraft would boost the fight against insurgency.

He added that they would impact positively on pilot training efforts of the Air Force, saying the acquisition was in line with President Muhammdu Buhari’s commitment to equipping the service for enhanced professionalism.

The Air Officer Commanding, Training Command, Kaduna, Air Vice Marshal Christopher Okoye, also described the induction of the aircraft as a valuable addition to the capacity building of the Air Force and the fight against terrorism.

The acquisition of the five aircraft by the Nigerian Air Force brings to 10 that have been inducted into the service in 2017.

Authorities say this is no mean feat as the acquisition of more modern equipment and training of manpower will no doubt boost the fighting power of the service
