Video: Kahli Abdu & VHS Safari – On This Side — Barely three days after the news broke that Kahli Abduand VHS Safari got signed to Chocolate City Music, they release the video to their single titled – ‘On This Side‘, which was also released on the same day they were signed.
For those who don’t know this group “Kahli Abdu & VHS Safari”, They group is comprised of Nigerian artist Abdu and production duo VHS Safari consisting of D.C. natives David and Will. They came up with the concept for A.R.T. Project during a long, cold winter in Brooklyn, working in our basement studio while dreaming of taking our music to warmer places.
90’s hip hop beats and indie pop synthesizers blend with the rhythms, beautiful melodies, guitar and driving percussion that encompass music from Africa. Kahli’s combination of rapping and singing tie everything together with personal stories, and meaningful observations on the beauty and struggles in the world.
