Olu MaintainSHARES 3rd Album Title, Collaborations — Olu Maintain has revealed that his 3rd studio album will soon be released. The singer, who stormed the scene with his debut album Yahoozee in 2007, stated in a radio interview that the new album, titled Chosen One, was almost ready.
“My next album is 90% ready and this time IASSURE my fans I’ll be a lot more consistent. The album is titled Chosen One and as I speak to you, the next single that will drop off the album is ready”, Olu Maintain said.
Olumide Edwards Adegbolu (born September 1976) popularly known by his stage name Olu Maintain(sometimes called Mr. Yahooze) is a Nigerian recording artist, songwriter and performer. He co-founded the musical group known as “Maintain” with his cousin, Tolu Ogunniyi before, Adeboye Bammeke, popularly known as Big Bamo,JOINED the group and the group released six albums between 1998 to 2004 with hits songs, “I Catch Cold”, “Domitila” and “Alo” before they separated in 2004
Olu rose to prominence on May 2007 with the release of the hit song “Yahooze” from his debut studio album, Yahooze (2007) and Yahooze was preceded by a second album, Maintain Reloaded (2008) before he featured Big Bamo in the single, Kowonje. “Yahooze” won the Nigeria Entertainment Awards in 2008 for Hottest Single of the Year. In 2008, he performed “Yahooze” at the Royal Albert Hall, London and brought on stage Colin Powell, the former United States Secretary of State.
The first single off the album, Cinderella FEATURING2Face Idibia, is already enjoying airplay. Other star acts like Reminisce, Timaya and Seyi Shay are also said to beFEATURING on the album.
