Perfect United Too Good For City In A 4:2 Demolition Derby

A 4-2 mauling at the hands of Manchester United is not something Manchester City's owners will take kindly to, and the speculation surrounding Manuel Pellegrini will now go into overdrive.

City were out-played, out-thought and out-manouevred by a mobile, aggressive United side playing simple, effective football. They may pass back to their keeper a lot and use the long ball rather frequently but there were precious few unhappy faces at Old Trafford at the game's end.

For those who do not want to see blackness in terms of player and team performance, try some stats instead: City's fourth consecutive away loss is their worst run since their relegation season of 1995-96. Their pass accuracy in this game was 71 percent, comfortably their worst this season. This was the eighth defeat in 14 matches since Jan. 18.
