Mom arrested and charged for allowing men to rape her 2-year-old daughter and infect her with STD

A woman has been arrested and charged with letting men rape her 2-year-old daughter who reportedly contracted sexually transmitted disease after the incident.

25-year-old Azzie Watson of Independence, Kansas City was on Tuesday charged with child abuse and endangerment.



WDAF-TV reports that court documents say Watson’s boyfriend recorded Watson talking about repeatedly taking her daughter to a house where her daughter was raped about five times. She says on the recording that she watched.

Police were given the recording last month while responding to a rape report at a hospital.

It was also claimed in the court documents that Watson told detectives what she said in the recording was a lie because she was scared of her boyfriend. When Detectives told Azzie, her daughter also tested positive for a sexually transmitted disease, the mom said she didn't know how that was possible.

Watson is currently at the Wyandotte County jail. Her bail is set at $75,000 and no attorney is listed for her in online court records.

Grammy award winning R&B singer, Toni Braxton has taken to her Instagram to share before and after photos of her engagement to rapper and co-founder of Cash Money Records, Birdman.

The two who first met back in 2002, officially appeared as a couple on the red carpet at the 2016 BET Awards.

When asked if his relationship with Toni Braxton was official on the Wendy Williams show, the rapper responded-“T, that’s my girl, my friend, my family… that’s my love, my soldier, my life… She’s my life. I love her to death.”



The pair first teased their fans about their engagement back in February during a trailer of reality TV show, ‘Braxton Family Values‘ where Toni happily told her sisters ‘I have an announcement to make… I’m engaged!’

Although there are not a lot of details about the wedding yet, the R&B crooner has been quoted as saying: ”This is my second wedding and I’m over 40 – It’s like Carrie Bradshaw, the last bride over 40 – so I want something that’s elegant and a little sexy. I’ve already done the beautiful bell dress at my first wedding,” she says of the planned black, white and red affair.


”This time, I want something that’s more vintage – ’20s and 30s like Great Gatsby-themed.”

A promising Nigerian soldier has lost his life in a most sad manner after being lured out by a woman before getting shot.

A Nigerian soldier by name, Lance Corporal Mustapha Musa, a member of the Nigerian Army ordinance Corp and He is a regular student  (NAITES), Kogi state has been gruesomely murdered after being lured out by a lady in Benue state.

The tragic incident happened on Tuesday 17th of July, 2018 at about 8:30PM while he was on a course at the Nigerian Army Institute of Engineering and Environmental Studies (NAITES) in Makurdi.



A close friend, Abdlkabir Bamaiyi Musa shared the sad news on Facebook while mourning him. The whereabouts of the woman who lured him out is unknown. Abdlkabir noted that the hoodlums shot him before escaping.

Investigations are reportedly underway to apprehend his killers.

A fatal accident involving a bus and a train occurred on Old Abeokuta Road by Odejobi junction on Friday.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority Twitter handle, the accident occurred on Friday morning. The number of casualties wasn’t stated, except that it hindered the flow of traffic at that end of town.

As of the time of filing this report, the traffic management agency has revealed that the scene of the “fatal train-bus accident has been fully recovered. Our officers are currently flushing the heavy traffic trail it has left behind.”

Former Super Eagles Star Declares Intention To Become Governor Of Ogun State

A former Super Eagles star has officially declared his intention to run for the Governorship position in Ogun state.

Nigeria’s ex-international, Chief Segun Odegbami has declared his intention to vie for the governorship seat in Ogun State under the platform of Labour Party.

Odegbami made this known at the party’s secretariat at Quarry road in Abeokuta and promised to give welfare of the people of the state a priority if elected the governor of the state in the 2019 general election.

He noted that qualitative health care delivery and education would be his priority when he gets to power.

He said, “our government which will be led by Labour Party will provide qualitative healthcare delivery system by building hospitals where necessary. Necessary facilities for proper care, including drugs and personnel would be provided. I believe that only people with sound health can work and even enjoy any amenities provided by government”.

He noted that hospitals in Nigeria had turned to mortuary because they lacked necessary facilities needed to save the lives of Nigerians.

Citing the instance of his mother, Odegbami noted that his mother died eleven years after medical doctors in Nigeria had written her off.

He said that there was no single public hospital in the country, where an incubator was available for premature babies, which he said had become a thing of the past in advanced countries.

On education, the legend footballer while berating the falling standard of education in the country, said his government would provide education that would make graduates employable, as well provide jobs for other people.

Also, an aspirant to the State House of Assembly for Abeokuta, 2, State Constituency, Igbalaye Wasiu Ayodele said Labour Party, being a populist party would ensure that the welfare of the masses was given utmost priority when it took over government in the State.

Labour Party Chairman in Ogun State, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi frowned at the failure of the APC led government in the State to face various challenges facing the people, saying that the problems persisted because ” the APC government lacks ideology”.

He said Labour Party remained the only political party that was ready to change the political order which had failed to fashion a State that worked for all.

Older Than 60? Here's How Sugar Consumption May Improve Your Memory

A new research conducted at the University of Warwick, revealed that sugar consumption may improve the memory of persons older than 60.

Sugar improves memory in older adults – and makes them more motivated to perform difficult tasks at full capacity – according to new research by the University of Warwick.

Led by PhD student Konstantinos Mantantzis, Professor Elizabeth Maylor and Dr Friederike Schlaghecken in Warwick's Department of Psychology, the study found that increasing blood sugar levels not only improves memory and performance, but makes older adults feel happier during a task.

The researchers gave young (aged 18-27) and older (aged 65-82) participants a drink containing a small amount of glucose, and got them to perform various memory tasks. Other participants were given a placebo – a drink containing artificial sweetener.

The researchers measured participants’ levels of engagement with the task, their memory score, mood, and their own perception of effort.

They found that increasing energy through a glucose drink can help both young and older adults to try harder compared to those who had the artificial sweetener. For young adults, that’s where it ended, though: glucose did not improve either their mood or their memory performance.

However, older adults who had a glucose drink showed significantly better memory and more positive mood compared to older adults who consumed the artificial sweetener.

Moreover, although objective measures of task engagement showed that older adults in the glucose group put more effort into the task than those who consumed the artificial sweetener, their own self-reports showed that they did not feel as if they had tried any harder.

The authors concluded that short-term energy availability in the form of raised blood sugar levels could be an important factor in older adults’ motivation to perform a task at their highest capacity.

Heightened motivation, in turn, could explain the fact that increased blood sugar levels also increase older adults’ sense of self-confidence, decrease self-perceptions of effort, and improve mood. However, more research is needed to disentangle these factors in order to fully understand how energy availability affects cognitive engagement, and to develop clear dietary guidelines for older adults.

Konstantinos Mantantzis, a PhD student from the University of Warwick’s Department of Psychology, commented:

“Over the years, studies have shown that actively engaging with difficult cognitive tasks is a prerequisite for the maintenance of cognitive health in older age. Therefore, the implications of uncovering the mechanisms that determine older adults’ levels of engagement cannot be understated.”

Dr Friederike Schlaghecken, from the University of Warwick’s Department of Psychology, commented:

“Our results bring us a step closer to understanding what motivates older adults to exert effort and finding ways of increasing their willingness to try hard even if a task seems impossible to perform.”

Buhari also appointed a new managing director and six members of the board of FERMA.


President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, read a letter from Buhari at the plenary on Thursday in which he sought legislative approval for the appointments.

Benue APC publicity secretary resigns

Makurdi – The Publicity Secretary of the APC in Benue, Mr Agbo Terkula, has resigned both his membership of the party and the position he occupied.

In a letter of resignation, dated Wednesday, July, 2018, addressed to the state chairman of the party, Terkula claimed the APC controlled federal government did not represent the interests and yearnings of the people of the state.

” The APC which controls the government at the centre does not represent the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Benue state.”

He regretted the unprovoked killings of rural farmers by herdsmen and the displacement of farmlands and the plight of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP’s) in the state.

He added that some of the reckless comments by top political appointees of the federal government had exacerbated the killings.

He claimed overtures had been made to him not to resign his membership of the party but stated that to remain in the party would amount to “trading his life and conscience and the future of the state”.

The former Publicity Secretary, however, thanked the APC leader in the state, Sen. George Akume, for giving him the opportunity to serve the party. (NAN)
