EBOLA Sensitization Video Jingle, Powered By Agila Carnival | @agilacarnival

The current Ebola outbreak in west Africa, (first cases notified in March 2014), is the largest and most complex Ebola outbreak since the Ebola virus was first discovered in 1976. There have been more cases and deaths in this outbreak than all others combined. It has also spread between countries starting in Guinea then spreading across land borders to Sierra Leone and Liberia, by air (1 traveller only) to Nigeria, and by land (1 traveller) to Senegal.
It is on this note that the Agila Socal and Economic Carnival felt it has the responsibility to sensitize the local people of Benue state and Nigeria at large of the dangers of the virus and how to keep safe from it.

Ten Crazy Facts Girls Don’t Want Guys to Know

There is always something that girls aren’t telling the guys that they are with. Some are a bit strange, others are a bit sneaky, but others are downright crazy. Here are the top 10 crazy things or facts that your girl may be hiding from you.

Secretly, girls want all of your ex-girlfriends to be beautiful. This is the easiest way for girls to compare their beauty with others. If your girlfriend is searching through your Facebook list for ex-girlfriends, it is probably so that she can see how pretty they are.
Surprisingly, girls actually enjoy when you don’t call them back the next day, especially if you came on strong the day before. You will be constantly on their mind as they ponder everything that could have gone wrong.
On a first date, most girls will refuse to shave their legs. This is the best way to stay out of your bed and leaves you wanting to see them again. Usually they will also wear unflattering underwear on a first date as well for the same reason.

At a party, girls will see the sexy women faster than they will see the sexy guys. They always want to know where their competition is and how they stack up against the other girls in the room.
There are times when girls will fake it, just so you will let them go to sleep. At times, it may be difficult for them to realize when they are faking it and when they are not because the line of faking it and not is very thin.
Girls like sex to be a bit rough. Secretly they are looking for you to take charge and show a bit of aggression. They may never admit it, but they love to relinquish the control to you.
Girls will pretend that they need help in order to get you to do things for them. Not only does this make you feel better about yourself, but you are doing something that they do not want to do themselves.
Don’t think your sex details are safe secrets from your girlfriend’s friends. More than likely, your girl discusses every detail (good and bad) with her entire group of friends. Comparing notes is important!
You may be great, but your girl will still think about her ex-boyfriends from time to time. More than likely, your girl is stalking her ex’s via social media and imagining what their lives would be like if they were with them rather than you.
Girls always want dessert. Even though they may tell you that they are on a diet or watching their diet, they secretly want dessert. So, in the end, if you are unsure, order that thousand calorie cake and split it. She will be happy, trust me.

Kel Rebukes Marriage Rumours

Rapper Kel has stated in a new chat with reporters that she hasn’t started a family and is neither having problems financially.
She said shhe will soon be back to the music scene and has not missed performing on stage.
She said: “I used to read what was written about me, become saddened and sometimes cry. But I have moved on. Now I read and laugh a lot, shake my head, and sometimes share jokes with friends.
I have grown wiser and stronger and more comfortable and honest with who I am. Experience has taught me a lot and I have learnt that nobody will look out for you like you can.
“Right now, I will make music that is raw and real.. I miss performing on stage. Some people said I left because I was broke and started a family somewhere. But they are all wrong.”

Press Release: AGILA CARNIVAL 2014 [@AgilaCarnival]

Press Release: AGILA CARNIVAL 2014 [@AgilaCarnival]

It is no longer news that the Idoma Nation in the North central zone of Nigeria has contributed in no small measure to the development of the Nigerian State, both in Government and Private sector. From politics, economics, military and para-military, medicine,
agriculture, and the academia, just to mention but a few. It has produced some of the finest and outstanding   men and women that have changed Nigeria in general and Benue State in particular in all spheres of life for good.

Today, notable names like the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. David Alechenu Mark GCON, Minister for interior Comrade Abba Moro, Daniel Amokachi, Innocent Uja Idibia (2face), Bongos Ikwe, Gabriel Amanyi (Terry G) and several others ring a bell across the length and breadth of Nigeria and even beyond, not just in terms of popularity, but in terms of tangible contributions to the development of Nigeria.

To ensure that we do not lack in the future, notable men and women in Idoma Community and Benue State at large, have decided to commit huge resources to a cause called “Agila Economic and Social  Carnival” (Talent Hunt , Beauty  Pageant  music  concert and cultural festival) with the  theme  “Restoring the True Meaning of Community”. The objective is to use this avenue to unite the people, make the younger generation appreciate their culture, bring the people from all the Nine Local Government Areas that make up the Idoma nation to socialize and cross fertilize ideas on how to move forward, encouraging and exposing young talents through the talent hunt, give them financial rewards, sign them up to record labels and promote them. Empower the girl child and positively show case their beauty and make them help other less privileged through pet projects using the Face of Idoma beauty pageant, organizing social events and empowering young people to take them off the streets, which will reduce to the barest, intra and inter tribal crises, prostitution, armed robbery, cultism, thuggery and all forms of social vices.

These and other job opportunities were created during and after the maiden edition of the carnival. But that was a flash in a sauce pan as lot more have to be done to make the desired impact.

The activities for the 2014 edition of  Agila social and economic Carnival  has commenced officially with the forms (which are now on sale online), where people will vote  for their favorite contestants to ensure  fairness. These events are to climax in December.
All arrangements are being put in place to improve on the maiden edition. Over 20 cultural troupes and bands from all the 9 Local Governments in Idoma land and beyond will be in attendance. Professional Vendors have been engaged to stage a world class event (Idoma Got Talent, Cultural carnival, face of Idoma beauty pageant, music concert). Well over 50 thousand people are expected to grace the various events from within and outside Benue State. Security agents have been engaged to ensure that people have maximum fun.

We will like to use this medium to call on all the sons and daughters of Idoma nation and indeed friends of Idoma to support in any way possible to achieve these noble objectives.
Agila social and economic carnival is not just a carnival it is a movement, it is the biggest carnival north of the Niger.

Nigerian lady found dead in her hostel room in South Africa

Nigerian student Naizi Evah, (pictured above) a third year Computer Systems Engineering student of Vaal University of Technology, South Africa was found dead on Saturday May 2014 in her hostel room, this is according to her friends who are trying to get the media involved in the case.

One of her friends who reached out to me said prior to her death, Naizi had been in an abusive relationship with a Zimbabwean student, who also studies in same school with her, studying same course. The unidentified man was arrested by police in connection with Naizi's death but was bailed two days after police said they couldn't find any substantial evidence linking him to her death.

Her friends say the boyfriend had been emotionally and physically abusive towards Naizi, beat her severally and even threatened to kill. They say Naizi got tired of the abuse and broke things off with the man and told close friends she was done with him but he kept on trying to get her back/

Her friends believe she was murdered but don't know by who and want the Nigerian authorities to get involved as they don't believe they will get justice for Naizi with South African police. Naizi was from Edo State and was only 20 years old.

#BringBackOurGirls: ’4 more abducted schoolgirls have escaped’

The Chairman, Chibok Local government Council, Mr Bana Lawan, said on Wednesday that four more of the 221 abducted students of Government Girls’ Secondary School (GGSS) had escaped from their abductors.
Lawan gave the information in Abuja at a one-day stakeholders meeting for validation of draft humanitarian response plan for the abducted girls.
The meeting was organised by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
He said the girls escaped on Tuesday to bring the number of girls who had escaped to 57.
Represented by the council’s Director of Personnel and Management, Mr Musa Kolo, the chairman said the girls fell ill and were released by their captors.
Lawan commended Nigerians for showing concern and support for Chibok people, saying  the support had restored the hope and aspiration of the people for the return of peace to the community.
He commended the Federal Government’s prompt intervention through the provision of relief items for the people.
He urged the Federal Government to resuscitate the facilities destroyed by the insurgents and improve security in the affected school to boost the morale of the students.
Lawan explained that boys were encouraged to attend GGSS in Chibok because of the lack of education facilities in the area and appealed for the construction of boys’ hostels in the school.
He said the construction of the hostels would reduce the hardship faced by the students, who attended school from afar.
Lawan, who also decried the poor health facilities in the area, appealed for the deployment of medical personnel and teachers to the area.
He said the deployment of National Youth Service Corps members to the area would boost the educational and health needs of the people of Chibok.
Earlier, NEMA Director-General Alhaji Mohammad Sani-Sidi said the meeting was aimed at strengthening the coordination mechanism for humanitarian response in Chibok.
“While the Federal Government is working towards the safe release of the abducted girls, it is important that a sectoral response plan is prepared for their rehabilitation and reintegration back to normal life.
“The objective of the meeting is to integrate all sectoral response plans into one holistic multi-sectoral response plan to avoid duplication of efforts,’’ Sani-Sidi said.
He said NEMA and other actors had intervened in crisis occasioned by insurgency in Chibok by providing food and other items, water and medicaments for the affected people.
Also the UN Resident Coordinator in Nigeria, Dr Dauda Toure, said the organisation had mapped out a 75 million-dollar intervention plan for states affected by the state of emergency in the north-east.
According to him, the UN system in Nigeria has developed an integrated response package to address the humanitarian needs in Chibok.
He said the UN system would intervene in the areas of health, peace and conflict resolution, water and sanitation, among others. (NAN)
