Federal High Court Nullifies Benue Rep-Elect’s Election | To Be Prosecuted

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered INEC to immediately nullify the election of Benue politician, Christian Abah after allegations of certificate forgery leveled against him by his political rival, Mr. Hassan Saleh, was established to be true by the court.

Christian Abah was elected in the just concluded general election to represent the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal ‎Constituency in the forthcoming 8th National Assembly.

Rivers State Governor-Elect, Nyesom Wike. have lunched a new scattering allegation against the outgoing Governor Amaechi.

Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has decried the use of the office of the Attorney General of Rivers State by outgoing Governor Rotimi Amaechi to file a suit for Rivers State All Progressives Congress ( APC ) to stop his inauguration. 

Two Members of PDP National Working Committee Engineered APC Win

Femi Fani-Kayode has refuted claims that he and some others who campaigned for pres. Jonathan worked to the detriment of the party and the President. He said this while addressing claims by the National Working Committee of the PDP that he, the First Lady, Governor Ayo Fayose and some others engaged in hate campaign that cost the party and President Jonathan victory at the polls.

Mr Fani-Kayode who addressed newsmen in Abuja today May 19th, said contrary to what the NWC of the PDP is saying, two of the members in the party's NWC worked in favor of the APC and were in fact on the oppositions payroll.

Borno Governor: Chibok Girls Now Living in Bunkers WIth Boko Haram Members

The Governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima says there are indications that missing Chibok girls might be living in Bunkers in Sambisa Forest with Boko Haram members. He called on the military to liberate the girls as they carry out their operations in the forest. The Governor gave the indication in a paper he wrote and was presented by the Secretary, Borno Elders Forum, Dr Bulama Mala at a two-day post election conference on security and governance, organized the GubioSavanna Centre, a Non Governmental Organisation, NGO, in Abuja yesterday May 19th.

Orubebe: I Wont Defect to APC: My Twitter Account Was Hacked

Former Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Godsday Orubebe has denied he's dumping PDP for APC. He said his twitter account was hacked and those behind it tweeted what they did to embarrass him. He said he's a proud and committed member of PDP and has no plans of joining the opposition party

"It is not true that I am leaving the PDP for APC; it is not true and it cannot be true. I am a core PDP member. I am with my oga (Jonathan) and we are planning to reorganize the PDP to make it a party of unification.” he told Punch in a phone conversation

Federal Government Orders Chief Judge of Bayelsa State to Swear in Wike May 29

The Federal Government has requested the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State to administer the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office on the Rivers State Governor-elect, Chief Nyesom Wike, on May 29, 2015.

The request was contained in a press statement personally signed and made available to journalists in Abuja by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke (SAN).

Adoke said the request became necessary because of the existing vacuum in the Office of the Chief Judge of Rivers State as well as the Office of the President of the Customary Court of Appeal of the state.

The Nigerian Army Informs The Public Of a Possible 21 Gun Salute For The Presidential Inauguration

The Nigerian Army yesterday Monday May 18th released statement saying that the public should be aware that they would be firing their artillery guns for the presidential inauguration and swearing in ceremony and so people who live in Abuja should not panic if they hear sounds of gun shots.

"Rehearsal for the presidential inauguration and swearing in ceremony has commenced since May 4 at the Eagle Square, Abuja. The practice session for the 21 gun salute will take place on May 20 and May 25, and on the inauguration day, May 29. The public is hereby notified, especially those living within Asokoro area of Abuja and its environ not to panic at the sound of simulated firing of military weapons during the dates.” the army said

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on May 18, 2015 arraigned one Opara Edmund and his wife, Amarachi Opara before Justice O.O Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High Court Owerri, Imo State on a 2-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence. They pleaded not guilty to the charge. The accused persons were alleged to have collected money from one Okechukwu Ogbonna to the tune of Seven Million Naira (N7, 000,000.00) for a phony land deal situated at Federal Low Cost Housing Estate 11 Umuguma New Owerri.
